Today’s inspirations step it up by sitting down…at my Supper Club table!

Welcome back to our Step it Up Campaign, where our aim is to inspire others to become more active in charity work by sharing stories of social responsibility.

Meet The Supper Club 2015!

Last week, eight guests joined me and my co-host/co-brand (aka “husband”) at our table for the Supper Club, benefiting the Terrence Higgins Trust (THT), a charity that is near and dear to me. But the Supper Club event was much larger than our table of 10 – we were just one of 50 simultaneous dinner parties taking place across London. Now in its 15th year, the Supper Club is the big foodie event for THT, thanks to growing industry support, particularly from the Supper Club Ambassador, Michelin starred chef Angela Hartnett.  We were fortunate enough to be offered one of Angela’s tables at Cafe Murano in Covent Garden, which opened in June this year. The excellent food and wine (all donated) and warm ambiance were a perfect match for the event.

A  luxury raffle and silent auction also livened up the night, with fantastic lots such as a three course dinner for 10 people cooked in your own home by Michelin starred Chef Angela Hartnett (which raised £4,000 alone!).

When asked about their motivation to attend the event, most guests talked about Supper Club 2015 Media Wall2wanting to come together as a group to support a great cause (and have a fun night out with like-minded friends!). So what exactly is this “great cause”?

As the website states, “Terrence Higgins Trust is the largest voluntary sector provider of HIV and sexual health services in the UK, running services out of local centres across Great Britain. Their vision is a world where people with HIV live healthy lives free from prejudice and discrimination, and good sexual health is a right and reality for all.”

The brilliant news is that the entire Supper Club event raised nearly £70,000 for the vital work of Terrence Higgins Trust!

So a big THANK YOU to all my fabulous guests: Sheila Clark, Nigel Clark, Scott Rice, Giles Gordon, Damian McDermott, Matthew Swift, Clark Gard, Leona Tan and Sach Davé (my amazing co-host!) for Stepping It Up!
